EXHIBITION OPEN NOW!

Natural Progression, a landscape for dancers and musicians, is now open to the public. Take a wander down to the Royal Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh and soak in the idyllic atmosphere… Natural Progression, produced from 600 black bamboo shoots, creates the perfect environment for that deep breathe we all need to take every now and again. You’ll feel all the better for it, I promise… and if you fancy a bit of a different Saturday night out why not pop down to the Gardens on Midsummers evening (Saturday 21st of June) and enjoy an eclectic array of music, dance, visual art and even some Chinese tea…

Description:
Natural Progression by Susie Brown
A sculpture installed on the Lower Birch Lawn in the Botanics made from 600 shoots of black bamboo which creates a stage for dancers and musicians who will perform here on 21 June.

Three Pieces by Ziggy Campbell and Simon Kirby
This interactive installation in the Temperate Palmhouse in the Botanics is a collaboration between robots, traditional instruments, and living things. A yang-chin (traditional Chinese dulcimer) is played by a robot with many bamboo fingers while the surrounding foliage hides an ensemble of robotic chimes which respond to people’s movements in the Palmhouse.

The Susiemaroon ecocards are produced using 100% recycled cotton rag paper. No chemicals are used in the production of this beautiful paper, its white appearance is achieved by naturally bleaching under the strong sun rays of rural India. The ecocard designs are printed using vegetable based, mineral oil free inks and then wrapped up in our custom designed recycled, biodegradable packaging.

Brightly coloured industrial sized, salvaged, thread bobbins together with low wattage coloured lightbulbs give off a relaxing and atmospheric light.*

Materials: Salvages industrial sized thread bobbins, low wattage coloured lightbulbs
